Single Origin - Colombia Cafe Granja La Esperanza Laurina Natural

Single Origin - Colombia Cafe Granja La Esperanza Laurina Natural

Cafe Granja La Esperanza has been a well known producer of high quality Colombian coffee for both top end cafes and coffee competitions. We were first introduced to Rigoberto Herrera over 5 years ago, and we are so proud to bring you this special Laurina varietal.

The La Esperanza farm is located in the Trujillo municipality of Colombia, and sits between 1,430-1,760 metres elevation in the Valle de Cauca department. While we have tasted many of their Gesha and Sidra varieties in the past, this is our first Laurina and it blew us away.

Laurina is a naturally low caffeine varietal, also known as "Bourbon Pointu", which was originally discovered on Reunion Island east of Madagascar. It is more difficult to grow and harvest than most coffees and is therefore not a common find.

The caffeine content of Laurina is sometimes generalized, but we have measured (60mg) of caffeine per 10g serving, which sits nicely in the "Low Caffeine" category similar to our Low Impact Blend. We think this coffee is super sweet, super smooth, and super drinkable. You may be shocked at how elegant a low caffeine coffee like this can be!

Look for flavours or Black Cherry, Merlot, and Fudge. All of our single origin 150g coffees are roasted to a filter profile, though they taste great as a high intensity espresso if you prefer.
